Bailbrook House is a late C18 property with landscaped grounds on the edge of Bath. It was being used as a conference centre at the time of the survey. The client was planning to redevelop the conference centre into a hotel, and our involvement continued throughout the planning process.
Preservation of the historic landscape was a key element of the brief, and the work included;
- Carrying out a Pre-development Site Tree Survey in accordance with BS5837, evaluating the suitability of the trees for retention, recommending appropriate remedial works to improve the life expectancy and amenity value of retained trees, as well as outlining long-term management requirements for retained trees.
- Producing a Landscape Design Appraisal in conjunction with the Landscape Architects outlining the importance of the historic landscape and its key features.
Key services provided;
- Pre planning tree surveys
- Tree constraints plans
- Trees within the historic landscape assessment
