Andrew Bowman-Shaw, Managing Director heads the Tree and Woodland Company team - he has over 20 years experience in the arboricultural field. Andrews role as MD at TWC includes involvement in the creation and implementation of historic parkland restoration plans as well as new parkland planting schemes, surveying and preserving veteran trees, and the replanting of young tree stock grown from seed collected on sites.


Catherine Griffiths
Project Manager

With a background in practical countryside and horticultural management Catherine has been involved in a variety of projects from Conservation Management Plans, Environmental Stewardship applications, Woodland design planning, planting proposals and Parkland masterplanning. She is responsible for site surveying using GPS to plot trees, report production and the presentation of work recommendations through graphics.

Catherine also assists with project management including grant applications, and liaising with contractors and suppliers.

Richard O'Shea

Richard is an experienced arboriculturalist who also has a background in tree contracting and local authority tree preservation work. He specialises in BS5837 development and planning related projects and is experienced in tree inspections and risk analysis using VTA method and tree inventory software.


Louise Bowman-Shaw

Louise gained experience of the world of arboriculture and horticulture when working at the National Small Woods Association and later when running woodland activity days for Green Door Events. Along with her degree she has the RHS Certificate of Horticulture and a HNC in Garden Design under her belt.

Camilla Beresford
Consultant Landscape Architect & Historian

Camilla Beresford has worked since 1986 as a landscape architect specialising in historic landscapes.This work calls for a range of separate skills, including historical research and analysis report writing, field surveying, assessment of the history, grading the importance of the landscape as a whole and the significance of the features or character areas within it, proposals for future management and use, and restoration schemes.


Robert Yates

LANTRA Awards Certificate in Professional Tree Inspection


Robert has worked in arboriculture for over 20 years, specialising in hazard tree management and trees on development sites as well as management of large tree populations in historic landscapes. He is skilled in the use of decay detection technology, in particular the Resistograph and Picus tomograph.

Sarah Cotter Craig
Consultant Landscape Manager

Sarah is a Landscape Manager with a wealth of experience in historic parkland landscapes.  She has assisted in the preparation of a large number of Parkland and Conservation Management Plans for clients including the National Trust (Calke Abbey, Nymans, Hatchlands Park, Mottisfont Abbey), English Heritage (Wrest Park) and private landowners.  As part of these plans she has carried out a number of landscape surveys to determine the current condition of parks, gardens and estates, and prepare proposals for their future management and development.


Katie Burfitt
Consultant Restoration & Landscaping

BSc Ecological Science, Hons Forestry


Katie has 20 years experience in the commercial landscape industry with specialist skills in the restoration of quarries and landfills.  This involves managing the import of restoration soils, fully restoring sites back to a variety of uses including agriculture, woodland and country park, following planning requirements for each.    


Dominic Cawley
Planting and Maintenance

Dominic’s role within The Tree and Woodland Company is to provide vital on site tree planting and maintenance work, as well as specialist ground clearance, fencing and aquatic weed control to our clients.


Dave Faulkner
Woodland Management 

With 20 years of experience Dave specialises in woodland management skills such as coppicing, planting and establishment of young trees and hedge laying.
